With 2020 coming to an end, everybody is ecstatic to celebrate the last hour of this year and justifiably so! Also, I feel that this year has made us realize way more things about ourselves and about the world in general than we have in all the earlier years put together.

No wonder that this year has been depressing and weird for the whole world, but as someone who has seen her personal worst last year, I kept getting amazed at how humans kept finding new ways to deal with every ‘natural’ problem that came our way this year!

I want to start with marriages, and of-course babies! I am pretty sure that most of us were unsure about our next month’s source of income at some or the other month this year. And at such an uncertain time, how can one be certain about one’s whole freaking life when we don’t even know about the near future!

After this comes babies, I mean I get it that we all got a lot of free time achanak se because companies were still trying to figure out how to convert this WFH trend into a 24-hour working day! But that doesn’t mean that we become irresponsible on where and how we are spending our ‘extra’ free-time with…I mean getting sloshed and making a mistake was the norm but when did this definition start getting applied inside the closed doors of home sweet home even when we have not seen a drop of alcohol in months!

And see how creative we have got, I mean from getting grandparents to use skype to sending e-invites for everything, we have become so tech-savvy in this year that now even my father downloaded WhatsApp on his laptop and my mother is the new face on Quora!

I have read somewhere that humans and waterfalls always find their way but I never actually saw it getting more practical than this year!

So in a way 2020 is like my ex; weird, unpredictable but unforgettable!

So here’s to 2020 and the last few days of it; I will always remember you and the lessons you taught me… but I wish, with all my heart, that you never, ever come back!
